There are a plethora of activities (especially family friendly) that Tucson can provide to fill a weekend (and beyond!) — and we hope you’ll stay to explore all the Old Pueblo has to offer.
Take a look at our partner, VisitTucson.org’s website for a host of information on anything you read below.
There are many outdoor activities to experience right here in the heart of the city! Tucson has a plethora of desert botanical gardens, hiking paths and other beautiful outdoor landscapes for you to enjoy. Stop to play golf at a number of courses; learn about desert animals, trees and cacti at Tohono Chul, the Tucson Botanical Gardens or the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum; or stop at Sabino Canyon or Star Pass for a quick hike.
Tucson wasn’t named a UNESCO City of Gastronomy for nothing! Our dynamic culinary heritage and booming food culture is unlike any other. Our metropolis is stacked with high-quality local restaurants with cuisine ranging in a number of cultures. Foodies everywhere, unite!
Southern Arizona is ripe with historical and educational sites that are also beautiful — food for both your mind and eyes! If you’re one of those adventurers who doesn’t mind expanding outside of the center of the city, check out Kitt Peak National Observatory for some star gazing, Mission San Xavier del Bac for some Spanish and Tohono O’odham culture and history or the Pima Air & Space museum to see hundreds of military aircrafts that span our country’s rich aerospace history.
Fun, Family, Friends, Fling!
You’re in luck! Admitted Student Day happens to fall on the same weekend as our iconic University of Arizona carnival, Spring Fling!
You’ll find over 40 rides, games, numerous food booths and entertainment at this monster of an event — the largest student-run carnival in the nation.
Find out more at springfling.arizona.edu.
With UA’s 600+ clubs on campus, our students band together, set up their own booths and sell food to benefit their specific causes or to support their own club or service. Eat for a cause!
From the Zipper to the Ferris Wheel, we’ve got an array of rides to send the excitement soaring. Not an adrenaline junkie? There are more than plenty of games and prizes to win!
Sway to the rhythm of the music with Spring Fling’s live entertainment. American Authors, We the Kings, The Score, and more, have all performed at Spring Fling!
