Student Code of Conduct

Campus Safety & Wellness

When you attend Admitted Student Day, you enter an area where photography, audio recording and video recording may occur. By entering the event premises, you consent to such media recording and its release, publication, exhibition or reproduction to be used for news, webcasts, promotional purposes, telecasts, advertising and inclusion on websites. You further waive all rights you may have to any claims in connection with any exhibition, streaming, webcasting, televising or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such exhibiting, broadcasting, webcasting or other publication.

Animals are generally not permitted in Arizona buildings with some exceptions, such as service animals, service animals in training and assistance animals determined to be a reasonable accommodation. Service animals are permitted at Admitted Student Day. If a dog is not trained to do work or perform tasks, and only provides comfort or emotional support, the dog is not a service dog and may be excluded from public areas and buildings during Admitted Student Day. Orientation is for students who have committed to the University of Arizona. This program focuses on preparing students for what to expect when starting school, including activities such as setting your academic schedules — it is a very structured and planned program.

Admitted Student Day is a fun day celebrating your admittance to the University of Arizona and will showcase what life on campus is like, the available resources and amenities students have to them and an introduction to the university. You will be able to structure your day as you like, visiting the various types of amenities, lectures, tours, resources and fun that you choose. You get to try on Wildcat Life!

Yes. New Student Orientation is a more structured and specific day that is tailored to what you need to do before you’re able to step onto campus as a student.

No, while Admitted Student Day is not a required event, we encourage you to attend to get a first-hand taste of Wildcat Life and the resources available to you as a student.

There may be additional costs incurred outside of the actual event (such as travel to and from the University of Arizona, hotel if needed, etc.) but the actual event on campus is free to all admitted students and their families and includes lunch for each student and up to two guests.

All parking garages will be free for the day.

Please visit our Accessibility page for more information about disability access.

The event will go on rain or shine, unless conditions are dangerous.

If it is raining or rain is forecast on Admitted Student Day, guests should come prepared with appropriate rain gear. Ponchos or raincoats are advised for guests.

Every reasonable effort will be made to hold Admitted Student Day as planned. If Admitted Student Day cannot be held due to inclement weather, the event must be canceled.

If weather is severe enough (heavy rain, thunderstorms, tornado watch/warning) to necessitate a delay in the start of the event, instructions will be announced on site to guests. After delaying the event for as much as one hour, if the forecast indicates no change in the severity of the weather, cancellation of the event will be announced.

If the event is underway but is interrupted by severe weather, guests should follow instructions as announced. It is strongly advised that you prearrange a meeting place with your family and/or guests if the event must be canceled.

Yes, each student and up to two guests will receive a meal card to use anywhere on campus the day of the event.

Yes! Admitted Student Day is very different than just a regular campus visit. The Arizona community is rallying together to give you a taste of everything we have to offer. It is not just about visiting our beautiful campus.

Go to Travel.State.Gov for information about traveling to the U.S. for a short visit. Depending on where you are from, you may need to apply for a visitor visa, unless you qualify for the Visa Waiver Program. For more information and immigration resources, visit the New Students page on the International Student Services website.

Parking will be available for free in all garages during Admitted Student Day. We suggest parking in Cherry, South Stadium, 6th Street, or 2nd Street Garages the day of the event. View our interactive parking map for more parking locations on campus.

For accessible parking suggestions, please visit our Accessibility page for more information.

We recommend bringing:

  • Comfortable walking shoes - Our campus is one square mile, and you will get to see much of it on Admitted Student Day.
  • A refillable water bottle - We will provide water refill stations throughout campus.
  • Sunscreen and other sun protection - The spring weather in Arizona is unpredictable, but Tucson does see more than 350 days of sunshine a year.
  • Your mobile phone - The event schedule and map will only be accessible through the event app (Coming Soon)
  • Plus, don’t forget your “Bear Down” spirit!
